Bernhard Binder won 10 million dollars at the WSOP Paradise Super Main Event. The Austrian pro defeated Jean-Noel Thorel in a four-hour duel.
Bernhard Binder recently won the Super Main Event at the World Series of Poker Paradise. Mario Mosböck predicted this success weeks ago.
The player from Austria took home ten million dollars. He is 27 years old. This win happened during event eleven of the series. The buy in for the tournament was twenty five thousand dollars. Binder earned his first gold bracelet through this victory.
The champion mostly plays poker on the internet. He won one point eight million dollars in the GGMillion$ Main Event earlier this year. This new prize is nearly ten times that amount.
Binder played against Jean Noel Thorel in the final round. The match lasted for almost four hours. There was a fifty one year age difference between the two men. Binder was the youngest player at the table. Thorel was the oldest player present.
The final table included several other participants. Eric Wasserson and Terrance Reid were among the finalists. Natasha Mercier also competed for the title.
Binder spoke about his opponent after the game. He called Thorel a special player. He noted that the match was difficult because Thorel is unpredictable.
The tournament featured a $60 million guarantee. This was the largest guarantee in the history of the game.
Total entries reached two thousand eight hundred and ninety one runners. Some players bought into the event more than twelve times. The total prize pool crossed the $72 million mark.
