The GG World Festival 2026 launched with $300 million in guarantees across 1,600 events. The opening weekend featured massive fields, Argentinian victories, and an Andorran duo finish. Notable highlights included a $91,000 mystery bounty and prize pools exceeding their initial guarantees.

The GG World Festival 2026 has officially commenced, solidifying its status as the largest guaranteed online poker series in history. Featuring $300 million in total guarantees spread across 1,600 tournaments, the festival launched on May 3. 

The opening weekend saw massive player participation across Low, Medium, High, and Super tiers, with tournament fields consistently surpassing set guarantees as the $3 million leaderboard race began.

Low Tier:

The Low tier provided significant value for modest buy-in amounts, characterized by massive field sizes. Event 05-L: Grand Prix Europe, a $15 buy-in event, attracted 13,073 entries to create a prize pool of $180,407.40. 

Argentina’s Fakkpereda claimed the top prize of $15,945.76 after nine hours of play. Slovenia’s IwasEscoPablo secured third place, a result he repeated in Event 10-L: Sunday Main Event. The $25 buy-in Sunday Main Event drew 8,540 entries for a $196,420 prize pool, with Cyprus’s Meruokba taking the victory.

Argentina’s success continued in Event 08-L: Sunday Hundred Grand. This $15 buy-in tournament featured 11,654 entries and a $160,825.20 prize pool. PUNTANITO10 outlasted the field to earn $14,967.29.

Medium Tier

The Mystery Bounty format was a central feature of the Medium tier. In Event 02-M: Sunday Showdown Asia, a three-way chop resulted in a win for Uruguay’s AndroidN17. 

However, Austria’s Zauberer94 earned a $40,310 bounty despite a 386th place finish. Event 12-M: Sunday Showdown saw a similar outcome; New Zealand’s LargePoodle finished 369th but collected $45,000 in bounties. Mexico’s Limitless] won the event following a three-way deal.

The flagship Event 08-M: GGMasters featured a $150 buy-in and a $1,000,000 guarantee. Over 27 hours of play, 7,948 entries pushed the prize pool to $1,096,824. A four-way chop concluded the tournament, with Romania’s aSeHigh taking $110,214.40.

High Tier

High tier highlights included Event 07-H: Bounty Hunters Sunday Main Event, where 3,772 entries created a $1,886,000 prize pool. Austria’s nickmini4 secured first place along with $56,742.82 in bounty rewards. 

Event 11-H: GGMasters Bounty King featured a unique finish as two players from Andorra, SorryBud and Bababangg, took first and second place.

Argentina secured another major win in Event 08-H: GGMasters HR. Player jimmyjoint topped a 3,772 entry field to win $187,805.09, one of the highest individual scores of the opening weekend.

Super Tier

The Super tier featured elite competition, including Event 10-S: Sunday Main Event. Russia’s GREAGYPoker outlasted a 91 entry field in the $5,250 buy-in event to claim $82,285.31.
The weekend’s largest bounty was found in Event 12-S: Sunday Showdown. 

Mexico’s don chimbo won the tournament for $51,803.58 plus bounties, but Slovenia’s A Karmatckii captured a $91,000 mystery bounty. Despite finishing in 12th place, this stood as the largest individual mystery bounty of the festival start.
