r/poker and GGPoker Team Up to Offer Free $10,000 WSOP Main Event Seat

The r/poker community has officially announced its return to the World Series of Poker (WSOP) through a collaborative initiative with GGPoker. Titled the "r/poker Goes To WSOP Las Vegas" promotion, this series offers members a direct pathway to win a $10,000 WSOP Main Event seat for 2026. 

The entire prize package is provided at no cost to the winner, continuing the community's tradition of sending representatives to major global poker events.

This promotional series builds upon an established track record of community-backed representation at major live tournaments. Last year, the subreddit successfully sent Remi Alamian to Las Vegas to compete in the prestigious Main Event.

Following that campaign, Aleksandar Kozomara represented the r/poker community at the WSOP Europe in Prague. Kozomara put together a deep run to Day 3 of that tournament and secured a cash payout of €12,500. 

The 2026 promotion is designed to build on these past performances by selecting a new representative for the grandest stage in live poker.

The path to the Main Event prize package features three distinct qualifying heats hosted directly on the GGPoker platform. These tournaments utilize a freebuy format, meaning they are completely free for eligible players to enter, though an optional $2 buy-in is available for participants who face elimination and wish to re-enter.

The schedule for the two remaining turbo qualifying heats is structured as follows:

To locate and enter these qualifying events, players must navigate to the GGPoker tournament lobby and use the search term "r/poker". 

Entry into each heat requires a password. Organizers will release this password exactly 90 minutes before the scheduled start time of each respective tournament on both the r/poker and r/GGPoker subreddits.

Competitors who finish in the top 75 spots of any of the three individual heats will earn a spot in the Grand Finale. This final stage is scheduled for Thursday, June 4, 2026, at 21:00 UTC, and will feature a restricted field of exactly 225 qualifiers.

The player who wins the Grand Finale will be awarded a $10,000 WSOP Bracelet Pass. This pass grants entry into the 2026 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, which features starting flights running from July 2 through July 6. The tournament will continue its schedule until the final table is determined on July 13.

In addition to the grand prize package, players who finish in second through fifth place will receive consolation prizes. 

Each of these four runners-up will be awarded a $150 WSOP Express Step 4 ticket. These tickets serve as entries into the WSOP Express satellite system, providing additional opportunities to qualify for future World Series of Poker events.

Participation in this promotion is strictly restricted to members of the r/poker community who satisfy specific regulatory and platform rules. 

All entrants must possess a fully verified GGPoker.com account and have completed all necessary Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance procedures. Due to United States gaming regulations, all participants must be at least 21 years of age.

A fundamental condition attached to the grand prize is an explicit commitment to participate. The $10,000 WSOP Bracelet Pass is strictly non-transferable and carries no cash alternative. The winner must be fully capable of traveling to Las Vegas to play in the Main Event across the designated dates in July.
