The World Series of Poker has expanded its team, signing broadcaster Jeff Platt to a dual host and producer role. Renowned poker personalities David Williams and Joe Stapleton have also exclusively joined the WSOP to enhance brand content and engagement.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has significantly strengthened its team by securing exclusive partnerships with three prominent industry figures. Award-winning poker broadcaster Jeff Platt has announced an expanded dual role as both a host and a producer for the organization.

Joining him in exclusive positions with the WSOP team are highly recognizable poker personalities David Williams and Joe Stapleton.

Jeff Platt's Background and New Responsibilities

Jeff Platt entered the poker industry with a background in sports journalism. He spent the better half of the past decade working with PokerGO, and his extensive media experience also includes a previous stint as a co-host for the PokerNews Podcast.

Platt is widely recognized for his tableside interviews and thorough commentary during the WSOP Main Event and various other tournaments.

Beyond his prominent work behind the microphone, Platt is an active poker player who has accumulated $888,849 in career Hendon Mob earnings.

The WSOP, which was purchased by GGPoker in 2024, will utilize Platt in an expanded capacity to have a direct hand in building brand content. His new responsibilities will center on enhancing player engagement and improving the overall viewing experience for audiences.

Speaking to PokerNews about the announcement, Platt expressed genuine appreciation for the opportunity, noting that the partnership has developed to a level that satisfies all parties involved. He described having a voice in shaping content and the brand as a significant honor within the business.

David Williams and Joe Stapleton Solidify the Line-Up

The expansion of the WSOP team extends well beyond Platt's broadcasting role. Prominent poker personality David Williams, who has been a recognizable part of poker history for decades, is also officially moving into a new position with the organization. Williams has exclusively joined the WSOP team, marking another notable addition to the brand's line-up.

Simultaneously, Joe Stapleton has joined forces with the WSOP. This transition comes after Stapleton concluded his 15 year broadcasting partnership with PokerStars. The news of his signing was officially revealed on the WSOP Twitter handle, where Stapleton joked about his retirement lasting only for a single day.
With Platt taking on creative and hosting duties to bridge the gap between players and the organization, alongside the exclusive additions of Williams and Stapleton, the WSOP continues to build its team with established industry figures.
