The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has named 22-year-old reigning Main Event champion Lucas Jumalon as global ambassador for its new WSOP Academy app.

Jumalon, who won the title and $10,000,000 in August, will help introduce poker to a new generation of players through the learning platform.

As part of the partnership, Jumalon will embark on a season-long tour of WSOP Circuit events worldwide, searching for his own poker protégé.

At each stop, he will host an exclusive meet-up game for WSOP Academy customers, with one participant receiving a complimentary seat in that stop's WSOP Circuit Main Event.

At the end of the tour, Jumalon will select one standout player from the meet-up game winners. The chosen protégé will receive an invitation to compete in the 2027 WSOP Main Event in Las Vegas, which has a $10,000 buy-in, under Jumalon's mentorship.

The search begins November 13 at Dusk to Dawn Casino in Nottingham, UK. WSOP Academy users are encouraged to watch for details on joining the inaugural meet-up game.
WSOP Chief Executive Officer Ty Stewart praised Jumalon's maturity and willingness to give back, expressing enthusiasm for collaborating on the academy's development and promotion.

Jumalon said winning the Main Event had changed his life and that he was excited to travel, meet emerging players and help someone pursue the same dream.

A WSOP production team will document the journey, capturing action on and off the felt. The travelogue-style series will premiere exclusively on the WSOP's official YouTube channel, with its first episode expected in late November.
